Login to Google Account on Any Public Computer Without Password Typing

Google has already made account logins too secure for its users with 2 Step verificationand here I am sharing another added layer of security feature called Google Sesamewhere you won’t have to actually enter / type any password to login. Smartphone will suffice.

We always have fear of logging into Google Account on Public or Shared Computers because of Keyloggers which may steal our passwords. But, using this feature, you can log in to any computer without worries because you won’t be typing password on that machine.

How Google Sesame Works

1. Visit http://goto.google.com/login on Web browser of Computer where you want to login.
2. QR Code (Quick Response Code) will be generated and displayed as webpage.
3. Scan this code using Smartphone (Android / iOS / Windows / Blackberry / anything) which allows you to decode it.
4. This gets decoded into some URL which you have to open on Mobile Web browser. Enter the Login details including password on Phone and Sign in.

5. Click on Start with Gmail or iGoogle and Computer browser will automatically login to the account credentials you entered on mobile phone. You can access rest of the Google service once you are logged in.

This may sound terribly complicated to some users but it’s certainly not. It is ofcourseuseful and pretty safe while logging in to any Computer which you may think is not safe. Just one time entering password on Phone and not giving any details to the machine on which you are actually logged in.

I don’t know since when this service is available and even Google didn’t have mentioned officially about it anywhere except for this thread.

Also, it must be taken care that the QR code generated remains valid for few minutes and in case you fail to login from Mobile device, reload the page to generate to new QR code and repeat the procedure.

Personally, I am impressed with this kind of login procedure and really admire Google for bringing up this innovative idea which I am obviously going to use.

iPad 3 is Near

Apple has just sent an invitation to the press media about their future events that will be held in March, 7. They use an interesting pictures showing a finger pointing at Calendar icon on iPad (3 i guess) that display the event date.

Some speculations has came up after they see this invitation. Some people believe that the next iPad will remove the Home button and it will have a full touch screen interface on the surface. A lot of ideas that can be built on iPad 3 has sprung on YouTube, such as the one below. It's really a cool features if it's possible to be added or integrated inside iPad 3. I will definitely buy that device when it's officially sold in Indonesia.

Remotely control your computer

Remote desktop access is an interesting concept. It involves using a network to access a PC remotely and run applications on it. This offers several advantages over traditional filesharing and connectivity techniques.
Users can download and test out Remote Control software for free from LogMeIn (https://secure.logmein.com/products/free/) or Desktopshare (http://desktopshare.net/home.html). Remote Control technology can be useful for users who want to sync up their work PCs with their home PCs. For instance, set something to download on their home PC while they are at work. But the main advantage of PC remote access software is for organisations.
A major one is the saved costs on licensed software — instead of installing it on multiple computers, a company can instal it on one computer and employees can remotely access it via network whenever they need to use it. It simplifies tech support, the technician can take over the bugged PC instead of yelling instructions on the phone.

The Terabyte Scorpio

inShare

Hard drive manufacturer Western Digital (WD), in a recent press release, has announced the release of the 1TB Scorpio Blue hard drive [model #:WD10JPVT ] for mainstream notebooks in India.
The drive is a 5400 RPM drive with a 8MB cache, which is sort of standard for laptop hard drives. Although faster 7200 RPM drives are available (even from WD), they tend to be noisier with higher power consumption.
It delivers solid performance at decent power requirements, which is always a good thing as far as notebooks are concerned. WD claims that the drive produces about 25 dB (A) which is pretty quiet and the manufacturer has incorporated various technologies to make the drive more reliable. While 1 TB notebook drives are not new, neither are quiet ones, this WD drive does indeed offer best in class performance.
