Top 10 YouTube Ads from April 2013

YouTube have compiled a list of the Top 10 ads that have run on their site in April 2013.

They have compiled the list not based on number of views but instead used an algorithm that factors in paid views, organic views, and view rate (how much of a video people choose to watch). This works better because these are the kind of adverts that you can choose to skip past after a few seconds.

Remember the dancing baby on Ally Mcbeal about a billion years ago – this is basically that.  So far a total of 46,731,872 views!

2.Dove – Real Beauty Sketches
Coming in at number 2 on the list with 52,753,698 views – if it brought a tear to your eye, you know the adverts working!

3.K Mart – Ship My Pants
Don’t play this one too loud in the office but your LOLs will certainly attract some attention.

4. Pepsi – Beyonce Mirrors
I don’t even care what this is advertising, it has got the best celebrity endorsement in Beyonce Queen of Pop and therefore I’m buying whatever it is.

Much like the other Old Spice on at number 5 – I think the adverts are actually so short people don’t even have time to skip but using YouTubes algorithm of “amount of video watched” has made these two Old Spice ads seem more popular than perhaps they really are.
